Robert Patterson - Counselling in Kerry

It is quite common for people to feel nervous about going to see a therapist, as the idea of talking to a stranger about our most personal thoughts and feelings can be very daunting. It is crucial therefore that you find a therapist who you are comfortable with, and whom you feel you can develop a good working relationship with. Never be afraid to ask your therapist about their training and qualifications, and check they have experience in working with your particular issue. A competent therapist will be quite happy to answer your questions and discuss their training and professional experience. I would recommend that you only see a therapist who is accredited with one of the professional associations in Ireland. These therapists have had to go through a rigorous process to acquire accreditation, and you are assured that they are working in an ethical and accountable fashion.

If you would like to find out anything more about myself, or the services that I offer, then please feel free to contact me. I look forward to hearing from you.

I went to see Robert because I was having some difficulties at college, and my doctor had suggested that I go and see a professional, who I could talk openly with. I found Robert very easy to talk to, and he helped me to find solutions to things that had been troubling me. My family have noticed a real difference since I went for counselling with Robert, and I am feeling much better in myself. I now encourage all my friends to go and talk with a professional, if they feel things are getting on top of them. I would happily recommend Robert, and am really glad that I decided to seek some help for myself.

Robert was recommended to me by a friend who had previously been to see him. I felt that I needed to talk with someone as I have been suffering with feelings of anxiety for some time, which was really affecting my relationship. I didn’t want to take medication, without first trying some therapy sessions. Robert showed me ways in which I could challenge my negative thoughts, and I have found that I am able to manage my anxiety, and not let my negative thinking take hold like it used to. I would like to thank Robert for his help, and would recommend him to anyone who is thinking about going to see a therapist.

My doctor recommended that I go and see Robert, as he felt that counselling would be a more appropriate treatment for my negative thoughts. I had recently suffered a family bereavement, and I sometimes felt that I couldn’t face the world. Robert was lovely to talk with, and he allowed me to express how I was feeling, whilst offering me suggestions that could help me to help myself. I have learnt that counselling is a two way process, and it is really important that you find the right person for you. I would gladly recommend Robert, and found him caring and very professional at all times.
